My friend and his brother both have Sprint and they're not liking it. Either dropped calls or you can't understand each other. They'd like to leave, but they're in some kind of a family plan, so they're stuck. This is in SD.

GSM and EDGE are two different things. EDGE (faster form of GPRS) is for wireless internet and GSM is pretty much you mobile network coverage.
The beauty of GSM is that you're not stuck using a carriers lineup of phones.
