really? Sony really!??!? you cant fit it in cuz of the motion sensor??!?!

There's two reasons:
1) The official reason is that the gyroscopic sensors wig out with vibration, which is true.
2) Is that Sony was sued over the use of the rumble motors. The PS2 was ruled that it was not an intentional infringement, but using that tech again in the PS3 WOULD be an intentional infringement. Sony didn't want to settle with the company, so yanked the feature.
The PS3 controller has a USB port, so it's possible that they could have something like the Rez "Trance Vibrator", or there could be a wireless addon or something. I only liked vibration in a few games (Rez, Metal Gear Solid, survival horror games), so while I'm not thrilled, I'm not bummed either.
