U want to do a few simple checks first before taking your car to the shop and get charged a bill for diag only the get the shock of your lifetime.
1st: let the car cool down, pefered the next day. Remove the radiator cap and open the bleeder screw located on the upper hose where it connects with the head, it is a 12 mm wrench. Some models have this feature and some don't, if so follow on and install water only till only water flows out ot the bleeder screws small hole, then tighten and install the radiator cap.
2nd start the engine and let idle for at least 30 mins or so watch the temp guage, and look for leaks all around the engine. locate the leak and area of which it is leaking, turn off the engine. Let is cool off then inspect the area in need of repair.
3third If no leaks are present watch the temp guage and let it reach the halfway point, check to see if your fan turns on. If the gauge reaches the 3/4 mark and no fan has turned on shut your car off ASAP.
