Man your auto probably wasnt warmed up. Its not smart to rev your car hard when its not warmed up all the way, especially the auto. Dont listen to people talking crap about the sportshift lude. I got a 97, bought it in immaculate condition back in 2002 with 26,000 miles on it. Now i got 102000 miles on it and it still runs like the day I bought it. I think it depends on how you drive the auto lude. I rev mine to 8000 rpms sometimes in sport shift mode. In D4 mode u should be able to rev all the way right up to before redline. 7100 rpm or something like that, even in 1st gear. My tip to you is let ur car warm up to its proper operating temp then everything will be all good. Oh and change ur auto tranny fluid every 15000 miles and only use geniune honda fluids. oh did i mention I have 18" rhevo2s on it with 215/35 kumho spts, k and n short ram intake, tanabe racing medallion exhaust and dc sports headers? Still no problems as long as you know how to drive the auto lude.
