Sounds like a silly excuse for ram air on an application that won't need it. Call me a skeptic, but until someone does some solid tests that prove cold, fresh air is better than air sucked from the engine bay on an intercooled turbo setup, I am not going to be adding unnecessary stuff to cramp my already cramped engine bay.
Agreed, the turbo will heat the air regardless of the temp it comes in at and then it will be cooled again through the intercooler. Additionally, 'ramming' air into the turbo is useless. The turbo will compress the air as it was designed to do and 'ram' the air into the intake (boost - positive pressure), again, as it was designed to do. You will do nothing but have a bunch of unnecessary hosing/piping running around in your engine bay and likely cut up a bunch of needed supports to make this work.
