i'll admit that honda hasn't handled the transmission problem very well. but it also isn't as widespread as you make it seem. only a tiny number of people have a transmission as problematic as you describe. the transmission in my friend's honda odyssey had the same transmission problem, so they got it fixed under the extended warranty about two years ago. there hasn't been a single problem since. so much for "not being able to repair" it.

a 100,000 mile warranty is pretty generous, especially when the oldest car effected is model-year 2000.

and like i said before, none of their automatic transmissions have had any problems since then.
