and frankly, he's not THAT good. He's not terribly quick in the outfield, has a .290 career batting average, and he can't hit for power at all. I mean yeah he's a good hitter, but does he think he's worth THAT much more?

he's a pro's pro and he comes through when it matters. i do believe that a large part of leaving boston was contract term. i think the sox offered him one less year :thinking:
who wouldnt leave their job for more money and lengthier job security? i would. and one thing that everybody has in common, if you make minimum wage or you're bill gates, no matter what nobody says "no i dont want more money" anybody would take more money if it's offered to them.
