Two things:

1) Check the air filter to make sure it is not clogged

2) If the air outside is too cold (like at night) the coils will freeze. You can try turning the temp a bit warmer or just turning it off for 5 mins.

4 years living in a West Philly frat house with no circulation gets you pretty familiar with these things
