Personally, I wouldn't recommend using the H22 unless all you're concerned with is getting your car to go fast in a straight line. Sure, acceleration would be insane in a light car with that much torque, but adding 200+ lbs to an already front-heavy car is never a good idea for a daily driver. The right springs and *perfect* suspension tuning would help to alleviate some of the understeer, but it would never handle like a Honda again. For me that's at least half the fun of driving.

Also, this is by no means an easy swap. I was looking into an H22 swap for my '96 dx coupe, and the extra power and relatively low price of the H-series almost had me lured in. Then I started researching the swap and was taken aback by the amount of work required. There is quite a bit of fabrication involved, particularly if you ever plan on keeping power steering or air conditioning. Considering this combined with the custom parts involved, the cost benefit was more than wiped out.

A B18C will be plenty of power for a 'Sol, especially with mods. If you're really turned on by the torque of the H-series, a turbocharged B18B might be the way to go.

Unless all you want is a drag car, go with a lighter engine. The car will be more liveable and you'll be happier in the long run. Hope this helped.
