i've used midgrade and premium in my '98 auto ex since it came off the lot. would it make it any better if he had a 5 speed ex? would that call for an upgrade in fuel ratings? that's just like the store brand vs mobil 1(or any name brand) oil debate. what brand of oil do you use? i almost guarantee it's not store brand..because you'll probably say it doesn't have all of the positives or proven test results like the name brand oil.

so, why should someone stick to using the lowest grade octane available at the pump? spending an extra $0.10/gallon isn't gonna hurt anyone. on a completely empty tank of gas, that amounts to what...$1.10?
