My magazine is "fixed" by an inset allen wrench screw, which requires you to use a "tool" to remove the magazine; Thus fulfilling the CA Department of Justice's definition of "fixed magazine." If, somehow, it becomes legal to have a detachable magazine on it; All I have to do is rotate the allen wrench screw 3 turns counter-clockwise, and the magazine release button works as any other normal U.S.-legal AR-15 would.
