thats wrong, it just wont be nearly as effcient.
I suggest getting the head ported. the redline is more dependent on the crank and rod assemblies so as long as the rod bolts have been changed out you should be able to push it to 7.5 or so, dont expect any gains up there until you upgrade the camshaft tho.
