There may be a rise in cost of general goods, but then that just goes to prove that these farmers and other industries are injuring our economy by hiring illegal workers. I disagree only on the point that the need will fill itself. A lot of American citizens who are currently unemployed can't or won't do those jobs. Many have disabilities or other issues keeping them from working labor jobs. Those who can, can usually find something better. So I'm not really convinced that things will automatically get better. BUT, I agree on principle.
[edit] Actually, I realized my mistake. They should just start offering "farmworker" and "hospitality" visas or something.
The traffic for certain exits on my commute home was crazy because of the protests.
