You won't have to switch out springs for the CTRs as long as the stock redline is maintained. I have had CTRs in mine with stock springs revving to 8200 for over 4 months. If you want to put in valve springs, snap on makes a tool that I can give you the part number for that will make removing the springs with the head on the car possible. It runs around $120 from snap-on.
Some better cams along with a freely flowing intake manifold and a good tune could easily get you into the 14's.
