I saw some diagram before where it showed the exhaust and boost working together to open the gate. I believe it was for an internal gate though.
Exhaust and boost working together to open the gate? The only input your wastegate should recieve is from a reliable vacuum source. The side port should be a dedicated line from the manifold whereas the top port is used for a vacuum line with a splice from either a manual boost controller valve or electronic solenoid.
