this actually works on very few cars, and usually results in unmanagable powerbands and terrible reliability. I don't know of anyone who's tried it on a honda, but mk1 MR2 guys and a few mini-S guys have done it with some success.

SIcivic99, if your goal is simply to be faster than boosted sohcs and whatnot, you probably wont want to pay the extra one to two grand for a supercharger. There are plently of people who use complete kits and pieced-together setups. The advantage of the kit is that its designed to work together and go on your car with minimal fuss. The advantage of the home-brew is that its usually cheaper and alows you to be more selective about what parts you want to use.
