If the Colts were ever an option to sign with ... you'd have to pick them over a team like Baltimore, Texas, Minnesota, etc. You're making lots of money and have a high likelyhood of playnig in the superbowl.
The Bears don't want to admit Grossman is done. The guy stepped into the QB position late last season and had a rating of 59 ... which isn't good at all. Grossman was leaps and bounds better than Orton, but that doesn't say much.
The Bears also don't want to admit they blew another high round pick.
