NJ bike insurance is not bad... it depends on your age and cc size sportbike.... for full insurance with "upper limits", i paid like 8xx/year and i'm 28 on an 03 r6...

Some states are less expensive, but some states are a lot more... even if insurance isn't mandatory, at least get liability... Hopefully you won't need it, but still.

Same thing for helmets.... some states don't require, so people don't wear them, which has to be one of the stupidest things ever to me, but the helmet vs. no helmet is a never-ending battle...
