usually I follow what the dealer recommends but I dont want to sacrifice the engine so I can just have better miles per gallon.
what about all the new cars using 5W20?
Those engines have been designed with tighter tolerances so that 5W-20 is acceptable. There's a damn good reason Honda said 5W-30 when they designed the older engines. The MPG diff between 20 and 30 will probably only be .5MPG or so.
