Apparently I'm not familiar enough with the CL's because the honda's that i've seen have separate belts for each device.

If the configuration is how i'm thinking, you should probably just unplug the wiring to the a/c compressor. that's if the problem is that the ac is trying to spin. if it's something mechanical (i.e. the clutch is stuck), it's probably still going to smoke.
