Umm 96 is a fifth gen not a sixth gen

Bolts right in with a drivers side mount swap and adding the VTEC solenoid wires to run into the Lude ECU and it's pretty much a turnkey at that point. Second easiest swap if not the easiest swap in the Honda realm.
Why do I think the Lude is junk?
Well after having driven more than a few my reasons in stock form is as AF said ...the things a pig. It weighs something like 300 pounds more than my 4 door 5th gen Accord. The question is how can it weigh more when physically it is a smaller vehicle in interior space, glass coverage, and mechanics.
The car is supposed to be a "sports oriented vehicle" not exactly a sports car but lean to the sports side of things. Truth be told aside from the front end strut positioning it is a modified Accord pan.
The engine is the best thing to come out of a Lude and the fact that you can directly swap the Lude brakes for a 5 lug conversion on the Accord (I know I have a Lude front end sitting in my garage and have compared them).
Then after all that you get down to budget concerns...I can pick up an excellent shape 5th gen Accord for about $3 grand with low cost insurance, a Prelude of cross comparison will probably run you anywhere from $4 grand in "driveable shape" up to 6 or 7 grand for a higher quality model simply because it is a discontinued model, and pay higher insurance because it is a "sport model vehicle".
