good deal...so the cap/rotor combo can make a significant difference then? i know, it's probably one of the first things i should've done when tuning up the car but I just never got around to it.

Any other ideas for what could be wrong? I mean, my car hasn't ever exactly run "well". It's always been riddled with all sorts of mechanical problems but this seems to be another major issue, especially since it doesn't want to engage vtec half the time, even when at operating temp.
Also, I'm throwing a code for Engine Coolant Temp Sensor. Can you give me a little more info on this? Thanks.
