My solution to the depth problem was to go with Kenwood DualMags. They are sweet as hell. Looking at them, they look like coaxial speakers, but technically they are components because the tweeter sits on its own axis totally separate from the woofer cone. The tweeter does not in any way inhibit the movements of the woofer and not only that, the tweeter and woofer can be powered separately just like a component set. The magnet is tiny on the backside of the speaker but don't let that fool you, these speakers are nice and don't lack in sound quality a bit. No baffles to play with, no plastic pieces to cut on, simplicity at its best.:thumbup:
