my wife's 98 civic dx hatchback has manual door locks and a KARR anti-theft divice. the passenger door lock is jammed. the alarm still opens the driver door but the passenger will not open. the key will enter the lock but will not turn it. no signs of a break-in. also, the lock/unlock lever inside on the doorpanel is jammed.
Questions:
1. does this sound like a problem with the lock or the alarm?
2. if it is the alarm will disconnect solve?
3. if it is the lock how is it replaced? from the inside or out? special tools? cost?
4. does the doorpanel just snap into and out? i don't see any screws holding it in place.
5. i work on my old car pretty confidently but with the new ones i usually defer to a shop. should i tackle this or let a pro handle it?
