I would think the chances are very high. Kids who collected comics were geeks who would want to collect toys as adults.

The crappy part about collecting comics in the late 80's/early 90's is they were pumping out so many that none of them were rare. I just looked it up and a Spawn #1 goes for $10. I heard that nowadays they print a lot less, so the value increases a lot more. I'll never get back into them, but I wouldn't mind being able to read the Spiderman stories I missed.

edit: "Red Son" just reminded me of Marvel "What if" comics. I had a bunch of the Spiderman ones.
