Every once in a while, I'll buy a graphic novel. DC came out with two that I liked. The "Kingdom Come" series was excellent. It dealt with the super-heroes as they got much older and had to deal with the younger generation of meta-humans.

There was another one called "Red Son" which delved into the "what if Kal-El's life raft crashed in Communist Russia instead of Kansas, USA".
