Most vid cards have a laundry list of resolutions that they support. Sure on the website they will list like 5, but in reality they really support like 55... in True Color. 70 in hi color. and probably 200 in 256. Point is that if a vid cards max VxH is more than the monitors VxH, then it can probably do just about everything in between and find something the monitor would be happy with.
