1. new Conroe XE speed will indeed be 3.333GHz and will have the 1333MHz PCB
2. Pentium D 805 - New Cheapest and OCed to 3.8ghz+ compared to the cheapest Amd64 Single core 3000+ Venice. 805 has much larger L2 Cache and Dual processing.
3. My new Pentium D920 rig. New 65nm P4 at dual core. 4.2ghz stable OCed by air running with X1800XT-512MB = make your AMD fan boy drools :-p

This is to say that nothing is better than another. It's all depends on what you want. I've owned both, but now all my rigs are P4 and they're stable than my previous AMD setup. Of course, I still have my X2 setup too, but I don't use it anymore :-p
