If you just paint over chrome it will just flake off once it gets a runner. Even if you did 10 coats. The base it not cured and thus you will just have larger flakes of paint. If you want to do this succesfully I suggest yuo bead or sand blast the surface of the intake to rought up the surface and lose the smoothness of the chrome. Do about 4 coats of high temp primer and then 3-4 coats of your choice high temp. color.
