Wires and plugs won't really gain power. Most aftermarket wires actually lose power. There was a dyno test done a number of years ago. NGK makes really good wires. If he's going to go turbo, I'd recommend a copper electrode plug one to two heat ranges colder than stock. Most people run the NGK BKR7E.
