Speaking of, I was amazed that my girlfriend (she's from Ontario) knew about how during our Revolutionary war, Arnold and Montgomery under direction from Washington attacked Quebec in 1775 and tried to take it from the British as a way to drive them out of North America while Washington was holding the British at bay (literally) in Boston. The plan sucked balls but they still almost took it and probably would have completely cut off the British's control of the great lakes had they succeeded. Very few people here know of that.
