there are just so many moving parts involved with the doors, hinges, locks, pins

there is stuff that needs to be tucked just the right way (wires for one)...

the way the door shuts is dependent on how well the car can take being closed...

to make a car door shut and sound and feel solid there is alot of designing and mixed conbinations of components and designers coming together. --at least thats the way i see it
