Why can't anyone else call black people the n word, but everyone and their great auntie bertha can call white people cracker?
Actually I was just showing that non-blacks also toss around racial slurs affectionately. I agree that cracker and the n word can't really be compared simply because of the histories associated with each term.

As for where it came from, if you trust wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_cracker

And I don't believe everyone and their great auntie bertha can call white people cracker.
