OBD1 is essential if you ever want to chip the ecu plus there are less sensors to run and if the engine is OBD1 u'd have to run new sensors, one being the secondary O2 sensor in the cat.
god damnit....he asked the benefit of the motor..not of the obd....obd2 and obd1 teg harnesses plug into the SAME obd1 shock tower harness and run on the obd1 ecu to match your already obd1 car.
