well since you are pressing the brake im guess you have an auto, but i have a similar problem on my rex but the problem is with the clutch. sometimes (about 1% of the time) i have to depress the clutch pedal as hard as i can, then it lets me turn the key, its such a weird problem but its kinda scary, a few times i thought i was going to be stranded until i figured out what was causing it.
