You'll need a 97 LS motor or newer.
Make sure the block numbers are all from a passenger car. B20's are not allowed (truck CRV)
Make sure all your emission equipment is attached. (PCV, 02, blah blah, etc.) For OBD2, there are more things required than OBD1.
Make sure you have a catylitic convertor.
Make sure any aftermarket bolt ons have CARB numbers made for the engine clearly visable.
All in all, try to make the swap as clean and as "stock" as possible. You should not have a problem. All you need to worry about is passing the sniffer after the visual test.
I have had my swap BAR'd. It feels great driving around with a "legal" swap.
