I'm getting tired of constanty tweaking my 1998 A4 Avant. I moved 100mi away from my mechanic and ...frankly pretty pissed at AoA, so I'm skipping buying an A3. My last new car was a 2002 A4, the new style, and I hated the r/s kneeroom. No more room than the width of the steering wheel! I had pre-ordered it and basicly bought without a test drive. Kept it 6 months. I won't make that mistake again. That brings me to looking at the RSX. As you know, there is a lot of kneeroom, no doubt. The tC does not have it...but the Civic does. I admit, the new Civic caught my eye. It's a nice car. However, when you compare the inside of the RSX and new Civic...well...coming from the Audi, no comparison. Right now, I can get a Si at msrp, or get a fat $1800 off a RSX, putting them at the same price, $20k. I know the Si is a hot ride now, but it might not be for me. I really want the LSD, again, coming from an Audi quattro and living in the snow belt. (ps I don't want the 17"s) What I really want now is a "fast commuter car". I don't want to overspend and want good mpg. I'm 40 (yikes) but both frugal and affulent. I suppose the RSX could use a lil more power. I'll wish I had the LSD, but isn't the RSX a better car for a fat old fart who wants to sit in the fast lane at 90 for two hours at a stretch? Basicly, nothing is stopping me from getting the RSX. It even makes sense that Acura will drop it next year verses a redesign. TSX Coupe' might replace it...I wish I knew for sure. BTW- I had Hondas back in the day. I just got back on the wagon...bought the wife a 1998 CR-V...clean. I DIYed all the service.
Ideas?
