unfortunate variable is that we're on a budget, ~300 bucks is the max.... smallest i'll go is 27" and it MUST be flat screen. i did find a Samsung for 308$ but she seems hesitant....

Ironically, I bought my Philips when my JVC did the exact same thing (it was older than a year though).
It better not break, I like that tv.
