You will need the correct water pipe so you can plumb the lines (unless you can find some way to tap into the water and have it circulate). I have the cooler just chillin in my garage if anyone is interested since I bought it and decided against using it. All you would need is the O-ring that goes on the back, some coolant hose, and the water pipe.

I don't think it would help on a stock motor, though, since the oil doesn't really get much hotter than the coolant temperature. And if you are running synthetic, the oil filter will need to be replaced way before the oil anyway.
