You're looking at the last maybe 20 years of history. If you looked at, say, maybe the last 500 years you would see that Christianity has done a lot of the same things in the name of religion/God/faith and without a doubt ruined more lives and cultures than Muslims. For example:

-Aryan (ie Christian) Germans kill 6 million Jews. No outrage from the Christian world (until societal pressure forced them to apologize).
-Incan and Mayan cultures conquered and massacred by Spanish conquerors in the name of God. No outrage from the Christian world.
-Millions of Africans brought to the Americas to be slave workers to "civilize" them. No outrage from the Christian world.
-Native Americans exterminated or confined to reservations during the Great Plains wars of the late 1800's, on the basis of manifest destiny (basically, that Americans were to subdue the land as stated in Genesis). Active support from the Christian world.

The conquests of the Christian world of the New World, in the name of God and with support of the church, with an estimated 10's of millions of people killed, have had a more violent and profound impact than Muslim terrorism has had.
