However, the K24 engines actually has more horsepower with the new SAE 08/04 net ratings. For example, the K24 used on the Accord is now rated at 166 bhp, while the K24 used on the Acura TSX is now rated at 205 bhp, both due to changes in the valve timing and the engine computer programming for the 2006 model year. The new R18 engine on the Civic is truly rated at 140 bhp with the new rating, not surprising considering it uses an SOHC i-VTEC valvetrain, new for the 2006 model year.
