Yes, they both compress air, but they do it in completely different ways.
I think maybe he means "forced induction" in general and yeah, I can see that "technically" they serve the same purpose through different manners. A SC is belt driven and blows air whereas a turbo is exhaust driven and recycles air back in to make power. "Technically" they are doing the same thing when you generalize air being forced into the motor to make more power. I want to hear more about that superturbocharged car though. How did that run?
