42 offset will move the tire only 2mm more inside the car, not much, but sometimes that's enough to decrease or eliminate the rubbing. Have you determined where it's rubbing yet? Take a picture of where the rear bumper attaches to the rear fender inside the wheel well and post it.
I'd try to roll the fender a bit and see if that takes care of it.
What if I get a 17x7.5 with 45 offset? Will that make any difference? Cause the one I have is only 17x7. Thanks.
