wait a minute. that's their whole point of existance, that they believe these stories are fact. and if that's what they believe, why shouldn't they be allowed to pass these stories as fact to individuals who
choose to participate?
besides, the whole church revolves around
faith. they have
faith in what they believe. if they start prefixing everything with, "we think this..", or "we're not sure, but...", then what is the point? it totally contradicts everything that they stand for.
so explain to me why they shouldn't have that right? what are the implications that you're afraid of?
and remember, what happens within your own family is your problem. if your family is trying to force ideals down your throat, that's your own issue. the church chooses to teach to those that have made the conscious decision to be present for the teachings. i'm not aware of any
normal church that goes out of their way to force their beliefs onto someone. i'm sure this is the case with that parish in italy as well.
