I didn't say that they don't have the right to worship whatever they want...I don't think that the church has the right to pass stories off as facts. They can say "this is what we think" happaned...or "in the story of Jesus...". I think that this case is good because it will make people step back and realize what is important and what isn't. Do I think that it is really important whether he exsisted or not...no....but do I think the case is good....yes.
I've noticed this within my own family...they get all caught up on "Jesus said this" and "Jesus said that"....I think if people aren't really sure if he exsisted or not they will look at the important points like be a good person and don't steal or kill people...not Jesus/god said being gay is a sin or I can't eat meat on fridays and other bullshit rules like that.
