i have a 94
civic ex. with auto tranny

. shortly after purchase the rings went and i think the
head gasket isn't too far behind. due to bad luck with previous machine shops i decided it would be in my best interest to just wap it out. the original
motor is a usdm D16z6 and the swap motor is a
jdm d15b (not sure the what the last number is... it is simply stamped d15b, all i know it is the 130 HP vtec motor). signs are not looking good. they shipped the motor minus the distributor and it arrived looking beat all to hell. since the jdm wiring harness cannot be used anyway i told them to keep it and the ecu. (hope that wasn't dumb) but they knocked alot off the cost of the motor and tranny. when i called to get info on which motor was a direct swap, i was told that the d15b would go in without any mods and that the ecu will work. i decided to stay auto tranny. planning to rebuild the d16z6 and build it to the gills (
turbo cam the whole 9), when finished i am gonna mate it with the 5-speed tranny and chipped ecu, but that is a later date and time. since nothing is ever easy (murphy's law) for me, always difficult with many surprises, i am asking for people who have performed the swap to give me some insight of what to expect and what additional items i will need to buy. this is my only car, and is currently parked at parents house since i am sure it won't make it back to my house (not to mention he has all the cool tools and an actual driveway

, not a crush and run gravel one like mine... ouch, guess that is why they don't make beds out of rocks). i have been without wheels for a week and pretty much down to the last dime, so any unneccesary items i want to avoid, but i don't wanna screw the new motor either. replacment tranny is also an auto. i am hoping it will go smooth. i have only been able to find info so far for usdm d15 to usdm d16 or jdm d15b. also i have read that replacement parts are hard to find, so any help locating then would be great, also would like to know which ones i can find at the local
auto parts store and what motor am i asking for the part to fit. i am new to this (import tuning... have vast experience in mustangs and 8 cyl domestics, but dumb as hell when it comes to what works with what, what doesn't, what will with mods etc. for the import scene) what can i use off old motor to improve the jdm performance. any help would be greatly appreciated. plan to be done with swap in 4-8 hours, with help from a friend. please let me know if you actually done the swap yourself, helped a friend with theirs, or just heard horror stories, or read it off another site. i have some aftermarket parts to install, but they have yet to arrive which has me worried. hate to get it in and then have to nust knuckles to add em later... overdrive pulleys are the main concern, the others can be done later. also i am considering selling the d16z6 as is if offer is reasonable. BTW the original tranny was trashed, irratic shifting and unusual performance, so being unemployed and on a budget i chose to do as little modding as possible until work can be found. the longer i am without wheels the longer i am out of income. please help and thank you for your patience. also if anyone knows more info on the differences between the usdm d15 and the jdm d15 would be great. i also heard there are 3 different d15 jdm motors, but no way to identify them or what the exact differences are. help on this would be appreciated too, but my primary concern is getting mine up and running. "Silly copper, Lights are for clubs: besides, how can i be silent if ya keep asking me questions. and no i don't know how fast i was going, i was too busy trying not to hit the slower traffic, but i can tell you that you had to be much faster than me if ya caught up, cuz last time i saw you, you were parked." police don't like things like that for some reason... go figure. anyway thanks in advance for all the help and i will be awaitin your responses.
