Default Possible alternator problem.. please help.

Hey guys.. here's my problem.

1995 Prelude VTEC H22

This morning, my car struggled to start, and on the way to work, the tach and speedo dropped to zero, my radio cut out, and my dash dimmed. The car still ran fine, no stuttering or whatnot. I get to work, shut it down, and tell my friend about it, so we go out to poke around, and the car won't start. The starter clicks and that's it. So we hooked up some cables and jumped it no problem. I shut it off after the jump and it wouldn't restart. Does that sound like the alternator? Also, if I replace the alternator myself, is there anything I should know while removing it, and is it going to be a tough removal? I know to unhook the battery, but beyond that, is it as simple as removing the heat shield and unbolting?

Thanks in advance.
