you will make the same if not a little more power with a b16a turbo vs the b18b turbo. The b16a can actually handle a little more power then the b18b.....both can easily make 300whp, but the b16 can be safely pushed past 300whp ...upwards of 350whp....(same goes for the b18c)......
The compression of the b16a if fine, actually IMO it's great for a boosted street set-up running moderate boost (10-12psi)........
I like my b16. It's the price that isn't really justifiable. If they costed as much or maybe 200$ more than a b18b, I think it would be a lot more popular.
