what are the mods on your car? If gas mileage is such a concern, why not just change the tranny out for an LS one anyway? I know that it's a dog of a tranny under normal conditions, but if you are ever going to go with Forced induction, or an N/A build that will constitute a higher redline then an LS tranny wouldn't be too bad.
