i'm sure there are exceptions, but seriously, do you think your avg. kid working at the verizon store in the mall is pulling in $40k? i don't.
anyway, not trying to crap all over your thread, just speaking from my experience.

I think it's because VZW wants to motivate their sales reps to sell. They aren't going to sell much if they have some clueless teenagers making $10/hr. They are obviously looking for the most qualified candidates and they are paying their salespeople proportionately to the volume they move.
And for the record, I'm a salary/commission paid employee at my day job. I was told that the average pay for my position would be 40k in the first year and 50k average of all the employees and I already passed both of those marks in less than a year. And no, you don't need a college degree to get rich. The richest man in the world doesn't even have a degree.
